Sendergram a Maximum Viable Product

Sendergram provides a secure blockchain registered file sending, presentation, delivery and transaction platform for digital media for all creative types.

Twelve months ago we released a private beta of sendergram.com, we were expecting to release it officially 3 months later. What we hadn’t anticipated was the amount of feedback and the length of time it would take to process it and then act on the stuff that we felt mattered. A larger team might have just continued with the launch and had another team manage and implement the beta feedback changes simultaneously. For us being a small independent team that was not an option. The decision we had to make was black and white, either continue with the launch or put the brakes on and re-focus on further development to build out a company version and beef up the blockchain registration features.

a minimal viable Sendergram wouldn’t suffice

The feedback highlighted that there was a big demand for a company version of the basic Sendergram solution we had planned to release first. The company version was always planned as well as more developed blockchain features but not until we had proof of concept. You know “minimal viable product” philosophy; in most cases, it makes sense, but we felt that a minimal viable Sendergram wouldn’t suffice. The market for a company version made good business sense. The individual version would help to seed the company version and vice-versa. Regardless, right, or wrong we decided to pull the plug on the release and dive back into the abyss of development. There are advantages to a small team and no investors and a quick decision. Of course, everything has consequences, and ours was time. What looked like a 3–4 months adventure as usual ended up taking a year.

We are releasing a maximum viable product!

After a little diversion and more than a few dark days, we are finally back on track. We certainly bypassed the traditional minimal viable product strategy against all sensible advice. In fact, we are doing the complete opposite. Today, Sendergram is back on the launch pad. We are releasing a maximum viable product! Sendergram.com now has a company and individual version, automated and self-updating blockchain registrations and a unique way for teams to all access a shared network built out of common cloud storage services (Gdrive, Dropbox, Vimeo and YouTube). We basically rebuilt the whole mousetrap. We would not want to go back where we have just been, but now we are here it kinda all seems worth it now … time will tell!

What makes Sendergram unique, is the way in which it aggregates and networks a variety of cloud storage services and ties them together with blockchain-based registration, tracking and certification to reinforce, protect and report copyright infringement.
